Praet signed for Leicester City on a five-year contract and he did not take long to get to grips with the speed of the Premier League, netting his first goal in a 2-1 defeat to Southampton at King Power Stadium in January 2020.

Key milestone included scoring for the Club in the UEFA Europa League, and playing a role in Leicester's run to the final of the Emirates FA Cup in 2020/21 - which they eventually won 1-0 against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, one of host of accolades in his trophy cabinet, which now includes the Sky Bet Championship too.

Back when he was five-years-old, Dennis started his football journey at the SJV Motbroek academy, before heading to Stade Leuven, which later became Oud-Heverlee Leuven. The aspiring attacking midfielder's early years were spent at Den Dreef, the home of OHL, where his raw talent and tenacious personality shone through. Naturally, his abilities alerted the attention of other clubs and, in 2003, Dennis joined Jupiler Pro League side KRC Genk.

After seven years with the four-time Belgian champions, RSC Anderlecht, the country's most successful club, were able to persuade Praet to leave Genk and pursue his football aspirations in Brussels.

A year after joining Paars-wit, in 2011, Dennis made his senior debut following a standout performance at the AEGON Future Cup in Amsterdam, where he won Player of the Tournament. His maiden appearance was a 4-0 victory against Lommel United and Praet marked the occasion with two assists.

He quickly became a regular for Anderlecht. In 2014, he scored the third goal of a 3-1 win in the Jupiler Pro League Play-Off win over Lokeren to seal the club's 33rd Belgian league title.

That feat in part contributed to Praet receiving the prestigious Belgian Golden Shoe award, which rewards the best footballer in the country's top tier. Over six seasons at Anderlecht, he played alongside future City team-mate Youri Tielemans and won a further three Pro League titles and as many Belgian Super Cups.

Praet expanded his horizons in 2016 when he joined Serie A side U.C. Sampdoria, who would come to rely heavily on his services. He developed a reputation as a player who runs at defenders with intent, selflessly searching for a team-mate in pursuit of goals.

Dennis was a virtual ever-present across his three years there, making over 100 outings for I Blucerchiati and was described by his manager, Eusebio Di Francesco, as 'one of the best midfielders in Italy’.

He represented his nation at six different youth levels, from Under-15s to Under-21s, before making his senior bow in a 3-1 friendly win over Iceland in Brussels in 2019, going on to play in UEFA EURO 2020 as the Red Devils reached the quarter-finals.

In 2021/22, meanwhile, Praet spent a year on loan from Leicester City at Italian outfit Torino, making 24 appearances and netting two goals. His 27 appearances back at King Power Stadium the following season brought one goal in the 4-2 win at Aston Villa in February 2023, but sadly could not prevent the Foxes from suffering Premier League relegation.

Revitalised for 2023/24, the Belgian's involvement in the Club's promotion from the Sky Bet Championship as champions included assisting Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the opening day comeback victory over Coventry City. He also found the net in the run to the Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Finals, scoring against Birmingham City as Leicester triumphed 3-0 on Filbert Way in the fourth round.
